I got my tax stuff done by 2:00pm yesterday, so I can send it to the accountant today. I am very happy with that.
I had a wonderful dinner of lamb souvlaki and lemon meringue pie (home made and so delicious it was sinful). I don't think I am still down 10 pounds after that meal, but it was worth it!

Weight Loss & Wii Fit
I am down 10 pounds, and am really happy. I am going to have to try on my other jeans and see if they are more comfortable now that I have shed some excess weight. I want 5 more, then 10 more then maybe another 5 more. But I am concentrating on the next 5 first.
A friend (a really, really good friend) invited the family over for lamb souvlaki and lemon meringue pie and a workout on the Wii Fit, which she says is awesome. My husband is going to a superbowl party, as is my nephew, so that just leaves my son and I. My son is looking forward to a Nerf fight and lamb. I am not quite sure if my friend understands the nature of bottomless pit growing boys. Oh well, she will tomorrow. Here's hoping I survive the Wii!

Perseverance
"People of mediocre ability sometimes achieve outstanding success because they don't know when to quit. Most men succeed because they are determined to." George E. Allen
"In the confrontation between the stream and the rock, the stream always wins- not through strength but by perseverance." H. Jackson Brown
"Perseverance is more prevailing than violence; and many things which cannot be overcome when they are together, yield themselves up when taken little by little." Plutarch

Life Got In The Way
I wanted to send out my tax info to my accountant today. I figured I had last night off, and I could do it and send it out. I forgot that we had a Karate Teacher's Meeting, so I didn't get it done. Then, to top it off, they fed us at the meeting. At EIGHT o'clock at night. I can't eat that late and expect to lose weight. I am down 9.5 pounds and am really happy about that. Needless to say, I had more salad than anything else. I did have a little tiny but of the pasta and one bread stick. Oh well, I get back on the horse. And then, of course, I need to get my tax info out to the accountant. I know I can get it out by Monday, and since that is more realistic than Saturday, (class tonight, class tomorrow night and class and cello on Saturday) I am going to go for that.
So that's how life got in the way for me. Has it happened to anyone else?

Master Your Emotions!
All of us are 100% emotional beings. The better you are able to control and direct
your emotions, the healthier and happier you’ll be, and the better you will perform
in life.
MASTER your EMOTIONS, or your EMOTIONS will become your MASTER.
Daily training is absolutely the best way to destroy harmful stress and eliminate negative thinking patterns that can lead your emotions into a slump.
Negative emotions...such as anger, fear, depression and sadness are often magnified if
you allow tension to build up inside. Training eliminates stress!
Training forces the negatives out of your mind, body and spirit…and allows you to breathe in the positives.
Another great way to influence your best emotions is to purposely feed your mind and body the best information you can. Listen, read and watch things that motivate and inspire you. This helps to bring out your best emotions.
If you allow yourself to constantly absorb negatives, it's like junk food for the brain. It can and will cause long term damage to your emotional well being, your mood and your overall state of mind.
Strive to master your emotions by purposely programming themselves for success and achievement.
Everything you think, see, say, hear and do, influences your thoughts and emotions. Once you understand this, you may decide to be more aggressive on programming your thoughts everyday, by watching, listening and doing things that influence your emotions in a positive and empowering direction.
Positive programming leads you toward positive thoughts and emotions.
Positive emotions and energy will bring you greater health, happiness and optimism toward life and better prepare you to face your challenges head on.
Developing positive emotional control is similar to developing your confidence, it requires daily attention and regular conditioning.
Train Hard...Work Hard...Enjoy the Rewards!

Don't put the eye drops in BEFORE you try and read the scale. It will turn out all blurry. But I think I may be down another pound or two.

Walking The Walk
And talking the talk. Cleaned off my desk today, paid a few bills and pulled all sorts of info for my accountant. I will make copies of it tomorrow. I am in good shape to send it out by Thursday. I also went to Home Depot and picked up a few household things I needed to finish little projects around the house (a new shower curtain, new door handle guts so the downstairs bathroom door will shut properly and a new lamp for by the ironing board.)
It feels good to get that little stuff done. I have cleaned mushrooms for lunch for the next three days and have all the laundry done and put away except for one load still in the dryer. It's towels, so that's not too bad. My husband's car is PAID so that means I can put that money to something else. Woo Hoo.
A new month and another goal. I want 6 - 8 pounds off this month. I am noticing a difference in my jeans, so that makes me really happy.
How are we all doing after finishing our first month?
